Darren began as lighting designer with Lord Byng on their production of My Fair Lady in 2005. Other notable designs with Byng include Unity 1918, Urinetown, Cabaret, The Laramie Project, Young Frankenstein, Curtains: The Musical, Moby Dick: The Musical and last year's The Doctor in Wonderland. Some other recent projects include lighting for Peter and the Starcatcher (Matthew McNair Secondary), Death of a Salesman (St. Georges School), The Addams Family Musical (York House) & Silence! The Musical (DSR at the BMO Theatre Centre).
One of his favourite and most complex designs to date was for St. George's production of Les Miserables in November 2018 with over 420 lighting cues! A record for him until this rockin' musical with close to 500 cues!
Darren is head electrician at the Arts Club Granville Island Stage.
Logan was a part of theatre company during 2009/2010 in which he ran shows including Much Ado About Nothing and Urinetown. Since then his love for theatre company, as well as the teachers, has never ceased and he’s been popping by to lend a hand whenever. His devotion skyrocketed during the runs of Unity 1918, Young Frankenstein and Curtains: The Musical in which he dedicated hundreds of hours of his time to the shows. Last year, Logan was the lead carpenter and associate technical director on Byng's production of The Doctor in Wonderland.
Ryan is a Vancouver based freelance technician and sometimes lighting designer. He is excited to be back at Lord Byng. Recent design credits include Festival Dionysia (UBC Players Club), Bad Jews (Famous Artists), and The Crucible (UBC Theatre). A recent graduate of Douglas College’s Stagecraft program, he has also quite recently graduated from UBC’s BFA Theatre Design and Production Program.
