Dawn Ewen

Thanks to this powerhouse cast, and creative team. Dawn is the Artistic Director of both Pixie & Dot Productions and Sassafras & Co. Select choreography credits: Spring Awakening - RPI (Ovation Award); Wizard of Oz, Fiddler on the Roof & Sound of Music - Gateway Theatre, The Wiz - FCP (CTC Award); Anything Goes - Metro Theatre (CTC & Ovation Nominee) and 42nd Street - Metro (Ovation Award). Dawn trained with CSB, is a graduate of CCPA, and performed with Enpoint in Japan. She was first soloist with Ballet West, Scotland. Dawn is a five-time nominee for the Ethel Tibbits Award. Love always to her family and friends.

Arielle Ballance
Musical Director

Arielle Ballance

Arielle Ballance is a music director, accompanist, performer, and coach. She has made music with numerous theatre companies in BC and Alberta including Sound the Alarm, Theatre Under the Stars, Raincity Theatre, the Gateway, Metro Theatre, CapU, Studio 58, MacEwan University, and Alberta Musical Theatre Company. She has received two Ovation awards for Outstanding Music Direction and was nominated for a Jessie award in 2019. Besides her work in both professional and community theatre, Arielle also loves to work with emerging performers in educational environments. She has music directed at Magee and North Delta Secondary, and is on the faculty of Gotta Sing! Gotta Dance! musical theatre summer program.

Darren W. Hales
Set & Lighting Designer

Darren W. Hales

Darren began as lighting designer with Lord Byng on their production of My Fair Lady in 2005. Other notable designs with Byng include Unity 1918, Urinetown, Cabaret, The Laramie Project, Young Frankenstein, Curtains: The Musical, Moby Dick: The Musical, The Doctor in Wonderland, Concord Floral, and last year's sold out hit, Mamma Mia!


Some other recent projects include lighting and video designs for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (CTORA), The Lightning Thief (winner - Best Lighting Design - 2023 Ovation Awards) & The Wizard of Oz (CTORA), and the Arts Club's recent production of Moms The Word - Talkin' Turkey. One of Darren's favourite designs was for The Lightning Thief (CTORA) with over 440 lighting cues! A record for him...until last year's Mamma Mia with 465!


Darren is head electrician at the Arts Club Granville Island Stage.


He wishes to thank his partner, Isaiah, for all his love and support through this massive project.

Ethan is excited to be part of this year’s Lord Byng Theatre Company show, Hadestown: Teen Edition! Ethan is a Byng alumnus and has been a part of the tech side of many of Lord Byng’s shows over the last few years. He wants to thank Darren and Tim Horton’s.

Isaiah Ibarra

This is Isaiah's second production with Lord Byng's Theatre Company since immigrating to Canada in December 2023. Working on this production as well as Mamma Mia as a carpenter and design associate and general handyman has been great fun and he hopes you enjoy this incredible production.
